芝加哥的电车系统在车辆保有量和线网里程上曾一度是北美最大，但不是世界最大，
1952至1954年间曾有713台电车，1972年拆得一干二净。

墨西哥有两个，墨西哥城和瓜达拉哈拉，事实上墨西哥的电车系统车辆保有量和线
网比旧金山还大，这是因为墨城实在太污染了，人口又那么密集，电车虽说杯水车
薪，总比没有好，而且造价又比地铁便宜多了。此外南美有厄瓜多尔的基多、巴西
圣保罗、阿根廷科尔多瓦。

收过美加的旧货，爱德蒙顿的 Flyer E800 在BBC到来以后就卖给墨城了。

Chicago at one time operated the largest TC system in the world. During its 43 year life, 713 coaches provided service on 20 different routes. IRM has 6 units from this system including coach 84 from the very first order in 1930 (the oldest surviving trolley coach in North America), and the 631 from the final group purchased (the last trolley coach to carry passengers on the streets of Chicago, April 1,1973).
查了一下IRM的网站http://www.irm.org/history/trolleycoaches.html，看到了这么一段，似乎与您前面说的有些矛盾。还有，二战后伦敦和莫斯科的电车系统破坏程度是不是十分严重？我觉得如果不是二战破坏的原因，黑帮城的电车系统恐怕不会是世界第一的吧

这么说起来，芝加哥的电车系统倒确实有可能曾经是世界第一，伦敦50年代拆除电车
的一种说法是由于二战中电车被破坏严重，公车局整日疲于奔命，由于当时面临冷
战威胁，当局再不想重复二战中这样的奔忙。

Chicago's all time roster totaled 713 trolley coaches.  Not all were
on the property at the same time.  This was about 1/4 of Chicago's
total surface fleet.  No trolley coach overhead ever penetrated the
Loop, as most trackless lines were crosstown lines feeding subway and
elevated stations. As of 1972 261 coaches were left and the final
three lines ran March 25, 1973.
